Tips For Rideshares, Taxis and Cheap Rides From The Las Vegas Airport

Our belief is that Uber has the top market share among rideshare apps in Las Vegas. Absent surge pricing, expect to pay between $17 and $25 from the airport to the Strip and $25 to $30 from the airport to Downtown Las Vegas.

Drivers can only pick up passengers at the permitted pick-up areas identified in the rideshare apps. You cannot get picked up anywhere else. Do not forget to input the correct terminal when ordering your ride!

It is our belief that Lyft has a lower market share than Uber in Vegas, but you still should find Lyfts to be plentiful at Harry Reid International Airport. Like Uber, Lyft picks up visitors from the designated pickup areas in the parking garages.

Premier Tip: If you see prices higher than $30 to a Strip hotel or $35 to a Downtown hotel, and it’s not Friday afternoon/evening or Monday, you may want to wait a few minutes and try your app again.

Directions to the Terminal 1 rideshare pick-up location:

• Go to Level 2. Note, Level 2 is on the same level as the gates. However, if you are coming from baggage claim, you will need to take an escalator or elevator back up to Level 2.
• Once on Level 2, walk towards the signs for Uber/Lyft or Exit 32/33 towards the parking garage.
• Walk across the pedestrian bridge to the parking garage.
• Once across the bridge, you will find the rideshare pick-up spot on your right.

Directions to the Terminal 3 rideshare pick-up location:

• Once outside of baggage claim, walk across to the parking garage.
• The rideshare pick-up spot is on the Valet Level of the Terminal 3 parking garage.

Although no longer as plentiful as rideshares, taxis are still plentiful in Vegas – especially at the airport. Taxis are available outside of the baggage claim level.

Note, when getting picked up from the airport, if you are heading to the Strip, you will be charged a set flat fee for the ride depending on what part of the Strip you are being dropped.

• Zone 1 $22 – includes hotels such as Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand and Excalibur
• Zone 2 $26 – includes hotels such as New York-New York, Cosmopolitan, Paris, Bellagio and The Horseshoe
• Zone 3 $30 – includes hotels such as Caesars Palace, Wynn, Resorts World and The Strat

During F1 in Vegas in November 2023, a $15 special surcharge was applied to any pick ups on the Strip or airport. If you are coming to Vegas during a special event weekend, you may want to inquire if a special surcharge is in effect before getting in your taxi.

If you’re not keen on using a rideshare or are looking to save money, there are also shuttles available at the airport that go from the airport to the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown. Visitors should understand the number of stops the shuttle is making prior to the destination and weigh the cost vs. private vehicles. Note, the shuttles charge per person so shuttles may actually not be cheaper than rideshares or taxis.

The Deuce bus service, which operates 24 hours per day from the airport rental car center, is the absolute cheapest transportation option from the airport to Strip and Downtown hotels.

Non-resident visitor bus passes for The Deuce (includes access for all other routes) cost:

• $4 – single ride
• $6 – 2-hour pass
• $8 – 24-hour pass
• $20 – 3-day pass

Discounted fares are available for seniors and persons with disabilities. Children under five ride free with an adult.
