Vegas has no shortage of adventures, but are you a straight-up adrenaline fiend? Do you want to get your blood pumping? Leave with unforgettable memories of one-of-a-kind experiences when you try these activities for adrenaline seekers.

5 Activities for Adrenaline Seekers

Vegas has plenty of activities not to do with gambling, from the Grand Canyon, the Colorado River, desert skydiving, and ATV tours only a few hours away. For this list, however, we focused on adventures within and closest to the city.

Jump Off of The STRAT

The top of Las Vegas’ iconic Strat Hotel, Casino, & Tower features three heart-stopping rides. The newest, and perhaps most exciting, is the SkyJump. Not quite ready for desert skydiving yet? SkyJump is a great place to start! The SkyJump is a “vertical zipline” with a controlled descent. Jumpers have a harness connected to a line that ensures they descend at the proper speed.

It’s the only ride of its kind in the U.S., and the tallest sky jump in the world. Riders must be at least 14 years old, over 52 inches tall, and under 265 pounds to jump. The SkyJump starts at $130 per person. If you love it and want to jump again, you can at a discounted rate. Hotel guests and locals can also get a $30 discount.

The other rides on top of the Strat include the “Big Shot,” which shoots riders up the Strat’s needle at 45 miles per hour, and “X-Scream,” the rollercoaster off the side of the building. Both rides are open from 2 pm to 10 pm daily, weather permitting. See their website for other ride requirements.

You don’t have to stay at the hotel to enjoy these thrills. It is $30 regularly to go to the top of the “SkyPod” observation deck at the Strat, but visitors can purchase admission and rides together. You can buy one ride or two or unlimited access to Big Shot and X-Scream. SkyJump is not part of the bundle. Locals can get half off their SkyPod admission with their Nevada ID.

Adrenaline Mountain

The adventure is in the name. Adrenaline Mountain is an outdoor adult “amusement park” with 8 different attractions, including shooting experiences, ATV off-roading, “smash and grab” with a construction excavator, archery, axe throwing, and more.

Adrenaline Mountain is 45 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, south of the city, past the ghost town of Goodsprings, NV. Their most popular experiences are around an hour long, starting at $145. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to drive a monster truck, shoot a machine gun, or crush a car, this is the place for you.

Fly a Plane

Have you always wanted to fly a plane but don’t have a pilot’s license? Sky Combat Ace is your chance to make a dream come true.

Sky Combat Ace pairs you with a trained pilot for an unforgettable ride. For $500 a person, you and the whole family can be passengers on a 3-hour rollercoaster flight with barrel rolls, loops, hammerheads, and more.

Want to fly the plane yourself? A range of experiences to choose from, starting at $700, requires no previous flight experience. They also offer advanced training for licensed flyers.

Swim with Sharks at Shark Reef

If you’re a fan of the ocean and aquatic wildlife, it can be difficult to find water adventures in the Las Vegas desert outside of the hotel pools. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay allows swimming with sharks in their aquarium.

Want to know the most unique part? This is not shark cage diving. You can get up close and personal with the sharks with no cage involved. For you, it’s an unforgettable experience. For the more than 30 sharks in the tank, it’s just another day at the Shark Reef.

The activity is a 4-hour educational endeavor, including a 45-minute dive. The cost is $650 per person, or $1000 for two, with a limit of two people per dive. Visitors must be guests at the Mandalay Bay or Delano or a Shark Reef Annual Pass holder, 18 years or older, and scuba certified to participate in this activity.

Drive Sports Cars

Multiple Vegas locations allow you to test drive the world’s best high-powered cars. At the SpeedVegas Motorsports Park, 15 minutes south of the Strip, you can choose from 20 different vehicles and enjoy a 2-hour excursion behind the wheel of your most exotic dream car. They also have go-karting and off-roading packages.

Exotics Racing boasts the world’s largest super fleet of cars, with over 60 vehicles to try. They offer a mix-and-match package that allows you to take a turn behind the wheel of multiple vehicles.

Last but certainly not least, the Richard Petty Driving Experience allows you to drive a real NASCAR! This experience enables you to pick from different lengths of track times, up to 48 minutes, where you drive a NASCAR race car solo around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Passing is even allowed!

If you’re willing to explore, you’ll find plenty of activities for adrenaline seekers in and outside of Las Vegas.
