Attending the NBA Summer League in July 2024 doesn’t have to be the only thing you do in Vegas. While seeing the NBA’s future stars will provide an unforgettable experience for sports fans, you can catch many other activities that make the whole weekend a memorable experience for everyone.

What to Know for NBA Summer League 2024

The games occur at Thomas & Mack Center on UNLV’s campus (not on the Strip, FYI for first-timers).

Last year was the first chance for most U.S. basketball fans to see the sensational Victor Wembanyama. While Wemby won’t be playing this year, fans will still likely get to see college favorites such as Donovan Clingan and Dalton Knecht. Because it is an Olympic year, it’s too early to know which likely international NBA Lottery picks will be playing.

Still, some possibilities include Zach Edey of Canada, Alexandre Starr and Zaccharie Risascher of France, and Nikola Topic of Serbia.

One of the best parts of the Summer League is the sheer number of current and former NBA players and current and former coaches. In other words, you will never know who you will be next to in the rideshare line or at the concession stand.

What’s New in Vegas Since the Last NBA Summer League

If you haven’t visited since NBA Summer League 2023, here are some new things we recommend checking out in Vegas.

The Sphere

This $2 billion architectural wonder opened in late 2023. Check out our Sphere article for all the details.

Durango Resort

The new Durango Resort opened in December 2023 and is located about 15 minutes west of the Strip. We think it may have Vegas’s best sportsbook viewing/dining experience.

For more information about The George and other Vegas sportsbooks, check out our article on the Best Vegas Sportsbooks.

If you want something upscale, Nicco’s Prime Cuts and Fresh Fish has quickly become one of Vegas’s hottest and best steakhouses. In addition to its sportsbook and steakhouse, Durango’s Bel-Aire Backyard Pool will surely be one of the most popular pools in Vegas this Summer!

Fontainebleau

The luxurious Fontainebleau, located on the North end of the Strip, opened its doors in December 2023.

Indoor Golf

Since your last visit, two new indoor golf attractions have opened, including Atomic Golf and PopStroke, a new mini-golf course backed by Tiger Woods. Atomic Golf is located next to The Strat. Wood’s mini-golf course is located at Town Square, about ten minutes south of The Strip.
